Portuguese Natural Stone targets Finland’s premium architecture market

ANIET’s “Portuguese Stone – The Natural Path” initiative puts Finnish architects and interior designers at the centre of a drive to expand Portugal’s presence in high-end projects.

Finland is a target market for “Portuguese Stone – The Natural Path”, the international initiative promoted by ANIET, Portugal’s National Association of the Extractive and Processing Industry (www.aniet.pt). The project aims to bring Portuguese natural stone into more premium architectural and interior design projects, connecting Portuguese suppliers with Finnish architects, designers, developers and leading specifiers.

The initiative builds on an established trading relationship. According to figures compiled for the campaign, Finnish imports of Portuguese natural stone rose from €937,000 in 2020 to €1.48 million in 2025, an increase of approximately 58%. That growth provides a platform for strengthening the sector’s position in a market where material quality, precision and longevity carry considerable weight.

“Finland is a market that understands the value of materials that last,” says Francelina Pinto, Director-General of ANIET.
